Horsetail embroidery is an ancient type of embroidery technique passed down through generations among the Shui peoples of southwestern China. Led by the national inheritor, Song Shuixian, our collection is handcrafted by the skilled artisan team and each piece is created with thoughtful patterns and designs that speak to the rich cultural heritage behind this craft.

While there have been many product innovations since, the crafting method remained largely the same. Without hurting any animals in the process of course, a few horsetail hairs would be wrapped in colored threads prior to embroidering - hence giving it that wiry, 3D effect in the finished piece.
